Susquehanna Bancshares, Inc. Hires Michael W. Harrington as Executive Vice President and Treasurer

Susquehanna Bancshares, Inc., is pleased to announce that Michael W. Harrington will be returning to the company to serve as Executive Vice President and Treasurer in June.

Harrington is Treasurer and Chief Investment Officer at First Niagara Financial Group, and he formerly served as Chief Financial Officer. He has worked for First Niagara since 2003. Harrington had worked for Susquehanna as Chief Financial Officer of the company’s bank subsidiary in New Jersey from 2002 to 2003. He has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry.

At Susquehanna, Harrington will be responsible for leadership of the accounting and finance department and will report to Drew K. Hostetter, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

“Mike has a strong and diverse background, with experience in leading a bank finance group, familiarity with our investor base and a well-developed understanding of the new regulatory requirements facing our industry,” Hostetter said. “I look forward to working with him as the responsibilities of our finance department continue to grow.”

Susquehanna Bank Announces Management Team For Northern Pennsylvania Region

Susquehanna Bank is pleased to announce Jack Infield as Regional President, as well as other members of the management team in the Northern Pennsylvania Region.

Infield will be responsible for leading the region’s team in developing and maintaining both commercial and retail banking relationships in Centre, Lycoming, Northumberland, Snyder and Union counties. He will be based at Susquehanna’s office at 1705 North Atherton St., State College.

Infield previously worked as Regional President at Graystone Bank, which Susquehanna acquired in February 2012. He has 33 years of experience in the banking and financial services industry.

A resident of State College, Infield is active in industry and community organizations as a member of CBICC; president of Centre County Industrial Development Authority; board member of Centre County YMCA; board member of Village of Penn State; board member of Penn State Renaissance Fund and board member of the Central Pennsylvania MS Society. He also served as a past president and campaign chair of the Centre County United Way.

Infield received his undergraduate degree from Lock Haven University and his master’s degree in athletic administration from Penn State University. In addition, he earned a further designation from the Appraisal Institute, earning his SRA designation and his General Appraisal certification from the state of Pennsylvania.

Susquehanna named JoAnn P. Shotko as its Retail Executive in the Northern Pennsylvania Region. She will be responsible for the overall management of the bank’s 18 branch offices in the region and will be based at Susquehanna’s office at Market Street in Sunbury.

Shotko previously worked as Regional Retail Sales Manager at Susquehanna Bank and has 31 years of experience in the banking and financial services industry.

A resident of Selinsgrove, Shotko is vice president of the board of Central Susquehanna Sight Services, Inc., Shamokin Dam Lions Club membership chair and past president and a member of the Greater Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce Athena Committee.

Shotko is a graduate of the Pennsylvania Bankers Association School of Banking and the PBA Advanced School of Banking. She was also in the inaugural class of Susquehanna Valley Leadership.

Ed Sigl has been named as the bank’s Commercial Executive in the Northern Pennsylvania Region. He will be responsible for developing and managing commercial relationships and will be based at Susquehanna’s office in Lewisburg.

Sigl was most recently employed at Northway Industries as Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and he has more than 24 years of experience in the banking and financial services industry.

A resident of Lewisburg, Sigl is a former board member of the Union County United Way; Snyder, Union, Mifflin Child Development Inc.; Transitions; the Northway Trust; and an advisory board member of the Bison Club.

Susquehanna Bancshares, Inc. Increases Dividend and Announces First Quarter Earnings Webcast Conference Call

The board of directors of Susquehanna Bancshares, Inc. (Susquehanna) (NASDAQ: SUSQ) has declared a second quarter dividend of $0.05 per common share, payable on May 18, 2012 to shareholders of record May 1, 2012. This represents an increase of $0.02 per common share, or approximately 67% over the previous quarterly dividend.

Susquehanna expects to release first quarter 2012 financial results on April 25, 2012. The earnings press release will be posted under “News” in the Investor Relations section of Susquehanna’s Web site at www.susquehanna.net on the same date. Susquehanna Bank Announces Southeastern Pennsylvania Regional Management Team

Susquehanna Bank is pleased to announce Jeffrey J. Culp as Regional President, as well as other members of its regional management team in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Culp will be the Regional President in the Southeastern Pennsylvania Region, overseeing the bank’s branch offices and commercial lending activities in Philadelphia, Bucks, Montgomery, Delaware and Chester counties. Culp will be based at Susquehanna’s office at 150 South Warner Road, Valley Forge.

Culp previously worked as President at Wilmington Trust of Pennsylvania and has more than 30 years of experience in the banking and financial services industry.

A resident of Chalfont, Culp is on the board of Women’s Way in Philadelphia, is active on the membership committee of Cedarbrook Country Club and is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lansdale.

He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor’s degree in economics.

Patrick Laphen will be the Commercial Executive for the Southeastern Pennsylvania area. He will be responsible for managing and growing the commercial lending group and will be based at Susquehanna’s office at 1845 Walnut St., Philadelphia.

Susquehanna Bank Announces Partnership with the Philadelphia Soul

Susquehanna Bank is joining forces with the Philadelphia Soul to help support the arena football team’s run at the 2012 championship.

Susquehanna will be the official bank sponsor of the Soul, partnering with the team for broadcast and in-game promotions as well as community events.

Susquehanna Bancshares, Inc., is pleased to announce Alison van Harskamp as its Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer, as well as other directors within the Marketing and Communications Department.

In her new role, van Harskamp will be responsible for corporate communications, marketing and advertising, and sales strategies and support. The Marketing and Communications Department is based at Susquehanna’s corporate office in Lititz.

Lauren E. Maxwell was named Director of Marketing Strategies. She will be responsible for the day-to-day guidance and oversight of the team that handles advertising and design, research and market optimization, and digital marketing.

Maxwell previously worked as Sales and Marketing Support Manager at Susquehanna Bank. She has eight years of marketing experience in the banking and financial services industry and 14 years of experience providing marketing services to other industries.

Susquehanna named Stephen Trapnell as its Director of Communication Strategies.

He is responsible for the corporate communications team, which handles media relations, internal communications, community relations, social media, investor communications, customer communications and branding.

Trapnell previously served as Corporate Communications Manager at Susquehanna, where he has worked since 2005. He has more than 20 years of experience in communications, including work as a journalist and college adjunct instructor.

She will oversee the Human Resources department, as well as Learning Central, which is Susquehanna’s training and employee development department.
