Ask Susquehanna
Q:   Will my branch be open at the same times?
A:   Most branches will keep the same hours that they had before the merger. There were a few minor changes to hours at some branches, and we posted signs in those branches to let customers know about the changes.

Q:   How does Susquehanna support local communities?
A:   We live and work in the communities we serve—so it’s important to us to generously support local charitable programs and community events with our dollars and our time. A good example of this is our United Way campaign, where Susquehanna matches employees’ pledges to local United Ways dollar-for-dollar. For 2008, our employees have pledged more than $275,000. So with the company’s matching contributions, we will be directing more than $550,000 to local United Way-funded agencies and programs throughout the area where we do business.

Q:   Will CommunityBanks customers see changes to account numbers and products and services?
A:   For almost all customers, account numbers will stay the same; any customers whose account numbers needed to change were contacted individually. In addition, most products and services will work the same as before. Any changes are outlined in a Product & Service Guide that was mailed to CommunityBanks customers.

Q:   What is Susquehanna Bank’s cut-off time for transactions to be posted to my account the same business day?
A:   Susquehanna Bank’s cut-off time for all over-the-counter, ATM and telephone transactions is 3:00 p.m. Customers may complete transfers on our Internet Banking system until 8:00 p.m. for processing on the same business day.

Q:   Will this merger affect the FDIC insurance on my deposit accounts?
A:   In accordance with FDIC rules, deposit accounts from each bank will continue to be insured separately for six months after the merger date, to give customers time to restructure accounts. If you believe your combined deposits with Susquehanna Bank and CommunityBanks may exceed the FDIC insurance limit, it’s best to contact staff at your local branch to discuss options. The FDIC insurance limit is $100,000 for deposit accounts and $250,000 for Individual Retirement Accounts; however, the way accounts are registered affects whether or not you exceed this limit.

Q:   Does Susquehanna offer options to access accounts from home or work?
A:   Yes, Susquehanna Bank has services including Internet banking and automated telephone banking. In addition, customers can choose to receive their monthly statements electronically if they want, which helps to save paper and preserve the environment.

Q:   Will Susquehanna charge me a service fee if I use my ATM Card at another bank’s ATM?
A:   Susquehanna offers several accounts that allow free transactions at another bank’s ATM. In addition, customers can enjoy Susquehanna’s ATM Freedom program on any personal checking, savings or money market account. Under ATM Freedom, Susquehanna will refund the service fees that other companies may charge when you make a withdrawal at their ATMs, provided your account had an available balance of $2,500 or more following the withdrawal.

Q:   Does Susquehanna offer any type of reward program for using my check card?
A:   Yes. Every time customers use their check/debit card to make a qualifying purchase, they earn bonus points that can be used for merchandise or travel. The bonus points are offered on transactions that customers authorize with their signature or by typing in their PIN. There are more details on the website under ScoreCardSM Rewards.

Q:   Do I need to re-establish direct deposits or automatic payments that I had previously set up on my CommunityBanks accounts?
A:   No. If you had previously established direct deposits or payments, they will automatically be continued by Susquehanna Bank. In some cases, the organization that initiates the direct payment or debit may contact you for approval to change the transaction to the new bank routing number for Susquehanna Bank.
